Europe for Summer Break

Greetings everyone! Just recently got back from a vacation to Europe for Summer break. Finally one of my dream is fulfilled!! The whole trip overall was tiring and was too long. It was a two-weeks trip, starting from Rome all the way to Paris by bus.

The first stop was Rome - Italy, and it was freaking boiling hot! I was sweating and since it's so humid, my skin got really oily and greasy I feel so... yuck. Italy was just okay. It's not the typical country I would spend years living in. But I'm in love with their coffee, gelato and pasta! Remember this:
Coffee in Italy is never going to be bad coffee, even in just street mini stops. I can just drink coffee all day because it IS that good!
Gelato, I adore desserts, especially when there is pistachio or hazelnut contained in it. I buy gelato every single day whenever I see one little ice cream shops, and ordered pistachio and hazelnut flavor rightaway. I was worried I gain weight but, duh, you don't get to go to Italy every month or so right, so it's okay! *selfcomfort*

We visited the famous Pisa and Venice the next day. Venice is romantic, but since we went there on a hot summer day, I didn't get the romance feeling at all. Maybe it will be a different story if you are there with your lover, perhaps? ;)  Our last stop in Italy was Milan, the fashion city. I was so excited because I have always been curious about visiting Milan, the home of famous fashion designers.

Venice.

Next stop is Switzerland. The trip from Milan to Lake Como and Zurich was full of beautiful green landscape. I loved New Zealand and I used to think that it has the best landscape so far before I see Switzerland. The next day, we went to Mt. Titlis, which is about 10,000 feet above the sea level, by the cable car.

Germany was our next destination. I love German beer and pork knuckle! Got to try one pork knuckle at a restaurant but it doesn't taste THAT good. I know a restaurant which sells one better in Asia so I was rather a tiny bit disappointed. A little secret I'm spilling, German guys are HOT. I mean, DAMN HOT. Hitler surely was obsessed with one great thing: tall, blonde and blue-eyed creatures. Ooh yeah! :P

Our last stop was...
Paris, the view from the Eiffel Tower

Paris was our last destination. I'm sure that visiting Paris is on top of the list of many of us! I got to give a shot practicing my French that I haven't had used for a while; maybe I’m being a little sensitive but I think my French kinda suck that French people replies me in English most of the time. *sadface*
But I won’t let that ruin my trip: three days in Paris is not enough, I'm telling you. Three days to spend in Champ Elyssés, St. Honore and those shopping spots (not forgetting the food), was not enough. I swear I freaked out when I saw the infamous La Durée and Pierre Hérme macarons shops and literally wanted to order every single flavor, because I’m a dessert-freak like that. Summer in Paris is so far the best of this trip so, but the autumn wind started to leave us feeling a little bit too chill, and I was caught dressed not warm enough for a couple times.

Overall, I enjoyed the trip, but the first time visiting Europe or somewhere that you haven’t gone yet can be tricky, but I’m sure that it would bring you so much more knowledge when you visit for the second time. In my case, I’d definitely revisit Paris for ten more times minimum? J
