D.I.Y. Fair - Creative Business on The Move (Event)

First of all sorry for the late post, i know by whatever reason late to write and post is just late. Anyway i am still pretty excited to share what I've visited on October 13th 2013 at Surabaya Town Square. This event was D.I.Y Fair, they were calling every creative business people and do the fair together. Just trying to be honest, i was a bit disappointed with the numbers of the tenants but that's just one thing. Here are some pictures that i managed to catch during that day.

Not trying to brag them to you again, but i met Vanishing & Vound team with their as usual, lovely decoration in their booth. This time? They brought over a friend, De Korf.

their ties collections "Lost in Summer Route"

the new friend, De Korf collection.

the team of Vanishing & Vound / De Korf.

Not so far from this booth, i also met Venus Aretha, the girl behind her 6-days of brand preparation Artsy Bitsy. You must be surprised if i tell you, she's still currently 18 yet already achieved  her double bachelor Major in Communication & Business. She was a bright and nice person when i met her that time, i even more got shocked when she told me she prepared Artsy Bitsy in just 6 days to D.I.Y Fair event. Fyi, this is the very first time, they're going public.

When i asked her when was the first time she made these creative handmade things? She said, it was all started with a ribbon. When she was in junior high, she and her friend were get bored because their hijab looks so plain. That time, the ribbon idea came up to her mind and started to be a trademark.

"You can ask me make it depends on your demand. I'll try to variate it with pattern and colors depends on where are you going to use it. Like, leather or lace accents."

Expanding it not only to be creative with ribbon, here are some pictures to show you what she has prepared in six days time. My personal favorite? is the 'write-it-yourself' jar.

The price range isn't that pricey. When i asked her about that, she said the production process is already efficient so she could pull down the price and she's still keep working on it. Ever seen Harry Potter or Hunger Games Trilogy? This is a new concept that she brought over, on a bag. You can request it yourself.

"People usually put up their favorite brand, but here you can put anything you like."

Last but not least, Venus also mentioned this is not just going to be an online shop, but also she wants it to become a community and workshop that people can come and see how things work in Artsy Bitsy.

From a rising local brand, to batik brand and people that just came up with an creative business ideas. Might be right to sum up what this event is all about.
