Honey x Lemon

Honey Lemon Drink.

This is pretty much a blend of my two favorite natural ingredients: honey & lemon. A very simple drink mixture but if you do drink this habitually, you're gonna even get a lot of grand advantages for your body.

Honey bees transform nectar into honey by a process of regurgitation and evaporation. They store it as a primary food source in wax honeycombs inside the beehive.
In addition to being a great natural sweetener, honey has a multitude of benefits that many people don’t know about.  Have you ever had an unrelenting sore throat? Honey has been proven to be a natural throat soother! Are you an athlete looking for a natural energy boost before the big game? Honey’s unique blend of natural sweeteners gives it the ability to provide quick energy in any circumstance. This section of the Web site will allow you to further explore these and other benefits of honey, and will also be a source for nutrition facts on this pure, natural sweetener. - 1
Even though its too much to sum up, here are some benefits from honey:

  • Natural sweetener
  • Natural energy (*honey is a source of carbohydrates, providing 17 grams per tablespoon, which makes it ideal for your working muscles since carbohydrates are the primary fuel the body uses for energy)
  • Skin care (*it moisturizes perfectly)
  • Cough suppressant (*A 2007 study by a Penn State College of Medicine research team found that honey may offer parents an effective alternative to over-the-counter cough medicine. The study found that a small dose of buckwheat honey given before bedtime provided better relief of nighttime cough and sleep difficulty in children than no treatment or dextromethorphan (DM), a cough suppressant found in many over-the-counter cold medications.)
As for me personally, where else you can find any sweet things and it has a good benefits for your body? No sugar added too, please note that one is very important (teehee).

People use lemons to make lemonade by mixing lemon juice and water. Many people also use lemon as a washing agent, because of its ability to remove stains. The scent of lemon can also repel mosquitoes, while drinking lemon juice with olive oil helps to get rid of gall stones. Lemon is well known for its medicinal power and is used in many different ways. - 2.
If I can mention these health benefits from lemon, they are good for your: indigestion, skin care, hair care, fever, dental care, burns, internal bleeding, weight loss, respiratory disorders, throat infections, high blood pressure.
Naturally i have this oily kind of face skin. Everytime i google about what mask should i use to suppress the oil amount, i can't find none of them leaving lemon behind. Because its very good to make your skin less oily and minimize the pores. Same thing goes with your hair treatment; if you have this kind of oily hair that makes you annoyed because it will go oily not so long after you feel clean about it, try lemon treatment.

I am using these two ingredients often since i bake, and combining these two into one drink probably one of my favorite drink ever!

Recipe:
1 1/2 tbsp lemon
1 tbsp honey
1/2 cup water (preferable hot water)

*double this recipe if needed

Gangnam Authentic Korean Restaurant

Found out a new Korean restaurant in town, which has a very authentic taste yet the price is not pricey at all! Located at Plaza Graha Family A 18-19 (near Hokky Graha Family, behind Loop & Dapur Cokelat) this place is surely worth a visit if you're a fan of Korean cuisine!

Ssam Gyup Sal (right) only for 70k-ish and taste 9/10
cold noodle in the middle we chose the original taste one (sorry i forget the name) its sour its cold but its soooo good 8.5/10 - 50k-ish

to tell you this one is the bomb, its Tteokpokki with ramyeon. Big portion you can just order this for two for just 45k. Its a bit spicy (Korean kind of spicy yes) and a bit sour, the tteokpokki doesn't has that annoying texture. So, I'll give this one 9.5/10

I have no rules when it comes to Korean food. The best mixture that comes into my mouth is when i have the noodle soup in a spoon, give it some ssamgyupsal at top end it with some tteokpokki ramyeon. Delicious beyond words.
This place isn't that booming, i really wonder why! Maybe its not so fancy, but yes we came here for the glorious food. It comes with a very reasonable price as well. Like, you don't have to pay for 200k or more just for slices of meat? Which taste so-so. You can bring just 100k and you'll get some Rps saved yet your tummy is bloated already.
And i also find out the reason that the ajjushi himself who cooked in the kitchen, so you will not rare to see that his customer is mainly Korean people, who talk Korean.

Overall review: 9/10

Historica Coffee & Pastry

What happened in town lately is there are so many brunch cafes that pops up. Its a good thing I say, its a good thing. I'll do another recap for the other cafes but this one will go for Historica Coffee & Pastry.
Located in the heart of the city, Jl. Sumatra 40, Surabaya this one is somehow catch my intention by its industrial concept.

As one of their sibling complex, Historica open daily from 7 am - 11 pm. Last order for the brunch set is at 3 pm, later than that you can enjoy their pastries. But yes, they serve coffee all the time. My first experience there was a pleasant one for me. The valet service is good and not pricey (10k), means they know people need that service because i am not sure if 5-8 parking lot in front of the cafe would squeeze up the number of the customers. Once you're in you're going to queue to place your order. Yep, you pay first then you'll get it delivered to your table.

I am loving the ambience, even the place isn't so big and the outdoor space is very hot during day time, but the price placing is just right for me.
This is what I order and i recommend to you to order as well once you decided to go there.

Egg Benedict (45k)
this one probably my favorite egg ben all over the town. The sauce is good, the egg is good, its all worth the price. You know some restaurant often wants you to pay too much for something which is very nice to have it daily like this.
Croque Monsieur (45k)
Its very simple yet delish one. You might think that "is that it?" but the portion is actually huge! a generous cheese inside you won't even ask for more.

Ice Mocha (or you can have it just Mocha) - (36k)
I don't know about the other coffee taste, but i like this better than Starbucks. And that statement i guess already explain you something. Its not that kind of very good coffee, but yes its good! I guess the barista still adjust how Surabayans like to have their coffee, not that strong in taste, but strong enough for me.

Either than that i didn't pay really much attention for the pastries, its a bit overpriced for me to have a tiny bit of dessert for around 30-45k in town. It would be different if they place that price for something that's new or something that people crave for.

Rate: 4/5
I'll come back again? Definitely.

Social Media Celeb

In this era people is taking business to another level. People use internet everywhere and every time. It has changed from a terrier need to something which is more important. This world has become borderless and everyone is connected through one thing, internet. It also change the human behavior. Nowadays people prefer to do it online, they do online crosscheck if they heard something they never heard before. If that thing popped up well on the internet searching engine, it adds some plus points.
Instagram as one of those booming social media nowadays has pretty much changed everyone's habit as well. Whether they realized it or not, taking picture and post them on Instagram is become another "must thing to do". Not few of them, taking things even more serious. People start to take their picture quality to post to another level. A friend of mine said that "you are what you post". And i pretty much agree with this one. Approved some so as well.
Having a nice feeds or interesting one is one thing that make people follow your Instagram account. Some people prefer to keep it nice and add not so much life in it as long as they have a decent Instagram feed; means: they do shots which people on Instagram will like it (name it like: food picture from above, a lot of decorations which is good, or whatever nice depends on the object needs). Or, they can do it in the other way, posting so much picture with not so much edited life yet people still want to follow them just because its either fun, amazing, desirable, luxurious. Whatever it is one point that i get here is: you need to make it interesting, because you never know how popular you'll get from it. Good thing about that? You never know how far a free online media can take your life. Yet of course it always up to you when it comes to take your life somewhere. But some people that i found interesting on Instagram DO know what they're doing with their Instagram feeds. Its a visual social media anyway, so when you open their feeds you've gotta imagine something about them and their lives through the photos. And its everybody's secret now that you can make some cash once you know how to roll yourself here. If you want to?
Second up is Twitter. I don't know if you're still using this social media but i still am. One of the reason why is because i can find any news from it and what makes it interesting is people have a right to whatever they want to sepal there. Ideas, Critics, Suggestions, anything interesting that come from the right people will make a great power. What i say here its not that kind of "whatever" but you know, they got so many followers for a reason yes? Unlike any other media, with this one you can tweet as many as you like and your follower won't find it weird. You'll get even more eyes if what your tweets is something that would make people feel worth to follow. Anyway who wants to follow a nonsense tweet that you'll see all over your timeline? Catching up with anyone who's using it also won't be so far. As long as they have one whoever it is, name it from Obama, Jokowi, your favorite actress, your friend, your crush, or people who just sit next to you, they're just a tweet away for you to tweet what's in your head at that moment. If you got something good in there? One of those people, like Raditya Dika @RadityaDika (I have a lot of name to be listed but i just can't remember them one by one right now) spill it! As long as it won't hurt people, you're allowed to spill. Guess what, you can affect people that you don't even know. I imagine how fast the good vibes could spread if we all just know how to use one.
Anyway, its a simple; even something that happen everyday to post whatever we're going though to social media nowadays. You tweet, post, update your status anything through online media. The way we live is changing, and so are our habits. Its a good news that you can use that habit for something extraordinary or even give more advantage for yourself (even money) if you want to. Or just simply you can effect people by what you post.. for free.
What i am trying to say here is that everybody has their own potential, their own uniqueness that sometimes they don't even know how powerful it is. I know its not everyone, but from the fact that i know, i know some people is now floating by doing the things that they like and posting them on the internet by social medias. You can't forget how lucky Justin Beiber is, no? From what i see here, people will keep using that social medias or they even will take it another level (if now Path already provides 'sleep and 'awake' status, can you imagine what it will provides years from now?).
So, if you have one, or i believe you have more than one, why don't you try to give a shot?

First Phone Call From Heaven - Book Review

"But the very first telephonic conversation, between Bell and Watson standing in separate rooms, contained these words: Come here, I want to see you.” p.21
"Had it not been for a man’s love for a woman, making him jump abroad a train, Bell’s phone might never have found an audience. Once it did, life on earth was altered forever." p. 79
"Fear is how you lose your life.. a little but at a time.. What we give to fear, we take away from.. faith." p. 111
"When you know you are loved, thats the light." p. 182
"It doesn’t make me sad I love hearing his voice, but i have.. / what? / I don’t know.. / Doubt? / Maybe.. / Doubt is how you find God." - p. 210
"If you find one true friend in life, you’re richer than most. If that one true friend is your husband, you’re blessed." p. 216
"If it believes, it behaves better." - p. 273
"Moments later it rang again.. ‘Sorry," Sully said, answering, ‘Did I lose you?’ / "Never" a woman’s voice said softly. He stopped breathing. Giselle. - p. 283
"I am so sorry / Why? / I wasnt there when you died / Thats not your fault / I never said good-bye / Such a needless word, she said, when you love somebody." - p. 292
But this was not a new idea. We call out; we are answered. It has been that way from the beginning of belief, and it continues to this very moment, when, late at night, in a small town called Coldwater, a seven year old boy hears a noise, opens his eyes, lifts a blue toy to his ear, and no soul remembered is ever really gone. - p. 308
greetings to the latest book of my all time favorite writer, Mitch Albom. I’ve been following his book since “Five People You Meet in Heaven”, a friend of mine lent it to me and i was felt like i didn’t want to give it back to her. as usual his writing is such a piece (sorry for being such a fan girl here, i know i should be objective, i am trying, okay? hehe)
i don’t know if its just me but compared it to his earlier books, like 5 people you meet in heaven or tuesday with morris, i felt the plot is a bit slow so you need to catch a breath while you're reading. its a different time patch for me when i read this one compared to "Five People You Meet in Heaven" or "Tuesday With Morrie". That unique part from Mr. Albom is still there. Surprise you with his deep quote and putting it somewhere you won't expect that it'll come.
A simple answer, by the end of a chapter, a paragraph, an explanation about something, saying from someone who you didn't pay attention at first. Those spots, often i found the best quote and life lesson from him. Talking about life lesson, i found out all of his book is mainly talking about life and that's why it's very connected to all of us.
And again he delivered the message so well in simplicity by the end. Wrapped the question why he has to put “the First Phone Call from Heaven” as its title so you can close your reading journey in peace.

Coldplay's "Ghost Stories"

Genre: Alternatives
Released: May 19th 2014
Rates: 4/5

Cheers to May! What makes me more excited is Coldplay is giving another great shots in this album. The name as always, somewhat strange and weird and you need to find the whole lyrics or listen to the whole song to find out what does it means. And that's one of the reason why we love Coldplay, no?
First single from this album is Magic, and just like its name, the lyrics and music could transfer the main point of magic as in "love magic". I don't know but for me they also made their own EDM version and i think it pulled just right looking at the popularity that "A Sky Full Of Stars" is the most popular there. Just checking on youtube, for the audio upload only during 2 weeks from the published date it already reached up to 7.000.000 viewers. Not so bad, EDM in Coldplay's style.
But for me personally i loveeee, "Ink" the most.
Mentioned as one of the most affecting album since their debut, i think it is affecting. Compared to the other albums, this one sure feels different (i think they never made an album thats not feel special) like, it feels warmer, not that heavy with the lyrics and musics.

Gabe Bondoc's "Honesty LP"

Released: March 14th 2014
Total Songs: 10
Genre: Soul/Accoustic
Rates: 4/5

Personally my life is stuck to his songs since i don't know when. Gabe made his first debut in 2012 with his first LP's album called Timing, this year he made another one called Honesty. If you realized, he always pick just a word as his album name. A simple noun/verb that could simply sum up whats the album is about. And that's the first thing that i love about it.
Compared it to the first album, this one is wary much better. I am talking about the arrangement, songs, sounds. An album that you can repeat over and over without realizing that you've been hearing about it all day. If you're an acoustic sucker, you're going to love this one. The lyrics as always, Bondoc's style, a bit cheesy yet sounds still sweet and to the point. His guitar playing is also one of the best part why you should consider to pick this one as your favorite. The transitions, key changing movement is just smooth.

If there should be a lack in a review, maybe the whole acoustic session in the whole album could be one. I mean, people could get a bit bored. But for me in the same time it could be the main point of this album, its like showing the unique side and the Bondoc's side.
If you asked me from those 10 songs, which one is my favorite? I have my five favorites, they are: The Match, Close, Now I Know, We Match, and By Now.
You can simply go to your iTunes Store to buy this album, it costs like $9.90.

Oily to Oil-less Face

Ever tired of having an oily kind of face? If you're answer is a yes hope this post can help you find a way out somehow.

Call this as a product review that I've been wearing for three months now, i am wearing L'occitane Angelica series and the result is something that make you feel worth it, like you're investing your face on the right products.

"If you have an oily face especially, you have to be concern on your cleansing product, thats first to remember. Because when you forget to clean or lazy to do it diligently, don't get mad on whatever products you're wearing, because its your own lack, your own risk."

I find this statement is make sense, because when you have an oily skin, or in the other words you have big pores kind of skin, its very easy for bacterias, or any dirty little things to go in and yes they're one of the reason why acnes come to your face. Another thing that is important is to find the right cleansing product. I was trying some cleansing products and found it also important to find one which is not "that strong" because oily skin its a sensitive skin as well in some ways. If i may give you some advice: look for one that contains "water" as the main product ingredients and avoid those that has this or that chemical parts much more than the herbal one. In the other words, yes i am pro-herbal products! :)

Before this one, I also recommend, L'oreal Hydrafresh you might find it hard to find, but L'oreal official stall always have one. Back to the business, as they already announced it to the world, yes L'occitane products are all herbal. I found myself a bit tired of changing products here and there but now i am relieved that i found the right one for my face.

Cleansing Steps (left-right):
- Shea Milk Cleanser (night only) - to reduce red dots effects/pimples scars
- I am adding Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil (for Oily Skin) if i put some make up that day. This product is also very recommended, no wonder they put it as one of their best product to sell.
- Angelica Cleansing Foam
- Angelica Cleansing Toner
- Angelica Serum
- Angelica Moisturizer

*if you're confused which one to buy first for you to try, always starts with the cleansing.

Also once you turned herbal, try not to put any chemical things to your face (i don't even use pimple cream or any cream. just don't touch your pimples with bare hands or scrub it because it could make it worse). This might be one of those products that will suit well with your oily skin, not saying that this is the one and only, find yours and you'll feel relieved! :)
If i can suggest how to make it even better: is by changing the way you eat and live. Eat clean and reduce eating those with a lot of oil is not a joke or another booming lifestyle. And not to forget, do NOT stress out in life! It affects your face and body more than you could ever think and expect.
Stay happy and always stay happy! For the sake of your face? I shall say, "YES"! :)

Jessica Priscilla’s Personalized Shoes

Graduated on May 2013, Jessica started off her own shoes line named after her very own name Jessica Priscilla Shoes on August 2013. What does she actually sell? She sells a personalized shoes (loafers) by putting your name initial and you can choose your own shoes color. If you have seen many bags, bag charms, bracelets, wallets or so being personalized, Jessica also seen it and that’s why she picked her line specialty to personalized shoes.
So far you can make your own personalized loafers just by going through the website; www.jessicapriscilla.com. Its made by order just for you, they’re able to purchase not just for women but also men and babies! Just by following their easy step on the web, you can choose your own color, trim color, initial, font. You want to put your very own personalized item there? You can reach them via email for further details. What’s better about it? They can ship overseas.

I met Jessica on that one fine rainy day, she looked lovely wearing her own personalized loafers in red.

“I personally like anything personalized, like I’m just the only one who has it.” She said when I asked her why she started this business.

Getting things to be ready on your own isn’t something easy to do. Especially when every part of the shoes is all handmade, means all checked and controlled by hands.

“I am doing all the simple things by my own, from the design, production control, marketing, even the customer service part!” she explained it excitedly.

Seeing that excitement I guess it’s right when people say, do your job with your whole heart then everything else will follow. And not to forget, I see another ‘when you do a work that you love, you won’t have to work for the rest days of your life.’ kind of job when I met her.
No job comes with no circumstances they say, with all the hard work, all the problems during the process,

“When I heard that they love my shoes, all the hard work is paid off.”

Released their first special design on Christmas season last year, they’re not so fast being satisfied. When I asked Jessica about what’s her dream about this business, she allowed us to know something before hand.

“I’d like to have a showroom, a place that people could drop by just to see and try sizes, checking on the materials, color and so. If you have any idea about that 3D thing that’s recently booming? I have my mind on that thing also.”

She also said that expanding the product is necessary as well. It won’t be forever loafers. Same thing as the design, but I guess it won’t be fun to spoil every detail here and now, right?
Check their updates and get your very own personalized loafers through their official instagram: @jessicapriscillas, or Facebook page: www.facebook.com/jessicapriscillashoes or even better you can go directly to their website www.jessicapriscilla.com

Crazy Rich Asians (Book Review)

Title: Crazy Rich Asians
Author: Kevin Kwan
Genre: Fiction (Novel)
Publisher: Allen & Unwin
Year: 2013
Total Page: 403
Price: $29
Rate: 3.5 out of 5

If you have ever read something like Pride and Prejudice or Hanafiah Story by Sitta Karina's and like it, you might as well like this one. The cover might be a bit look shallow, the tittle even more, but as i finished it, it was light yet entertaining to spend some times and its not that shallow.
It is very modern, a lot of characters inside yet each one of them popped out beautifully. I think Kwan made it to speak out about how Asian (especially Chinese) culture is still there even though we move in this era. But don't worry, there is a family tree map inside just incase you have a bit of problem memorizing names and characters.
Yet in this four hundreds and three pages, the time range of the story is pretty much short. Unfolding too much truths for me in a period. It makes me want to know more sides because i still have a lot of "why" inside my head. Even better, if he had an idea to make it a sequel, family sequel kind of novel. The most disappointing part is the ending. As i started reading it, i feel like i chew a lot of words, a lot of characters and all. For me personally its just too "cut-off" i need more in the ending to finish such a book. Maybe like something certain, not just something that looks like its certain and i need to conclude it myself after all the reading. Orr... again, a sequel might be a good idea?
But after all, this one is really entertaining to read. Like one of those book when you finished reading it, you want to meet each characters inside, wondering how they look like if they're real. If they say book is kind of magic that could make you see another world? This one proved it right, a window to a Crazy Rich Asian's life.

D.I.Y. Fair - Creative Business on The Move (Event)

First of all sorry for the late post, i know by whatever reason late to write and post is just late. Anyway i am still pretty excited to share what I've visited on October 13th 2013 at Surabaya Town Square. This event was D.I.Y Fair, they were calling every creative business people and do the fair together. Just trying to be honest, i was a bit disappointed with the numbers of the tenants but that's just one thing. Here are some pictures that i managed to catch during that day.

Not trying to brag them to you again, but i met Vanishing & Vound team with their as usual, lovely decoration in their booth. This time? They brought over a friend, De Korf.

their ties collections "Lost in Summer Route"

the new friend, De Korf collection.

the team of Vanishing & Vound / De Korf.

Not so far from this booth, i also met Venus Aretha, the girl behind her 6-days of brand preparation Artsy Bitsy. You must be surprised if i tell you, she's still currently 18 yet already achieved  her double bachelor Major in Communication & Business. She was a bright and nice person when i met her that time, i even more got shocked when she told me she prepared Artsy Bitsy in just 6 days to D.I.Y Fair event. Fyi, this is the very first time, they're going public.

When i asked her when was the first time she made these creative handmade things? She said, it was all started with a ribbon. When she was in junior high, she and her friend were get bored because their hijab looks so plain. That time, the ribbon idea came up to her mind and started to be a trademark.

"You can ask me make it depends on your demand. I'll try to variate it with pattern and colors depends on where are you going to use it. Like, leather or lace accents."

Expanding it not only to be creative with ribbon, here are some pictures to show you what she has prepared in six days time. My personal favorite? is the 'write-it-yourself' jar.

The price range isn't that pricey. When i asked her about that, she said the production process is already efficient so she could pull down the price and she's still keep working on it. Ever seen Harry Potter or Hunger Games Trilogy? This is a new concept that she brought over, on a bag. You can request it yourself.

"People usually put up their favorite brand, but here you can put anything you like."

Last but not least, Venus also mentioned this is not just going to be an online shop, but also she wants it to become a community and workshop that people can come and see how things work in Artsy Bitsy.

From a rising local brand, to batik brand and people that just came up with an creative business ideas. Might be right to sum up what this event is all about.

K-Drama: Heirs - He Who Wears The Crown Endures Its Weight

The year 2013 doesn't look so bright for K-dramas. As a fan of dramas, I can barely remember a good drama that I've watched so far. Many fail my expectation to stay entertaining till the very end. A lot of them deliver poor ending that felt rushed and forced. Many big stars made a comeback to the drama world, like Song Hye Kyo and Jo In Sung in 'That Winter The Wind Blows'. But even with senior actors and actresses, the drama fails to gain spectacular reactions from the viewers, aside from some signature scenes such as the 'cotton candy kiss’ that has been parodied by many.

the infamous "cotton candy" kiss

As per October, Lee Min Ho starts to film a new drama, after quite a long hiatus from the drama world, called 'The Heirs' or simply called ‘Heirs’. From the look of it, 'The Heirs' share a great deal of similarities with 'Boys Before Flowers', that tell the life of the rich and the poor youngsters. The Heirs gives us a set of eye-candy characters, with Lee Min Ho, Park Shin Hye, Krystal f(x), Kim Woo Bin, and Kang Min Hyuk (CNBlue). These people are more than enough to attract viewers from the very start. I my self included in this type of viewers that's drawn to a drama by its set of actors.

At first I though that 'The Heirs' will be a place for Lee Min Ho to act as a bratty, spoiled rich kid that bullies the weak and the poor, like his former character, Gu Jun Pyo. Little did I know that he would be the exact opposite of Gu Jun Pyo. Lee Min Ho plays as Kim Tan, the mistress' son and an heir of a mega corporation, Jeguk (Empire) Group. Born from the womb of a mistress, Kim Tan is lucky to still be treated with luxuries, though his step-brother thinks of his existence as a threat, therefore send him to an exile to the United States. Kim Tan, in my perspectives, has what we called brother complex. He loves his brother unconditionally, although he is always treated with the uttermost disrespect and is clearly resented. This makes Kim Tan had an impression as a hooligan during middle school, but since he left for America, has changed to someone ignorant that do nothing but play, eat and sleep, following his brother's command. Here we are introduced to a character that comes from a wealthy family, good looking, and loaded with unlimited money, yet is solemn and weak-hearted, having no ambition what so ever to do something with his life. His sole life purpose is to never be in his brother's way, to please him in any ways possible, and to never inherit or even step a foot in Jeguk Group so his brother can own it all. Interesting, right? I am presented to a side of Lee Min Ho that is not ideal at all (excluding his heavenly abs and looks). Strong enough to stand on his ground but choose not to and walk the apathy way -- depressing to the core.

The Heirs characters plot

After being shown the life of the high society that swims in gold, we are introduced to our main heroine, Cha Eun Sang (Park Shin Hye), that lives in poverty, taking 2 part time jobs a day, while juggling with school and her mute mother that works as a housekeeper in Jeguk family's main house, serving the mistress (Kim Tan's biological mother). Like it's not pathetic enough, she must deal with her sister who lives in America, lying about going to university and marrying a decent man. Later when Eun Sang decided to see America and meet her sister, she is revealed to a reality where her sister is nothing but a waitress in a cafe and lives with her boyfriend in a lousy neighborhood, far from what we call 'a decent life'. While in America, the odd is in her favor, as she meets Kim Tan, and makes our 'ideal husband material' falls for her. Even though Eun Sang feels the sparks between the two, she wants nothing to do with our Kim Tan, since she knows he’s from another planet altogether and has a vexing fiancée, Yoo Rachel (Krystal f(x)).

To make the storyline even more complicated, coming back to Korea, Eun Sang found out that her mother has been living in Jeguk's house for some time, after giving her whole house deposit to her oldest daughter in America. Eun Sang ends up living under the same roof as Kim Tan, who also decided to come back to Korea for good, against his brother's will. They also enroll to the same school for the riches, Empire High, where Eun Sang sees with her own eyes how different her world is to these bunch of heirs. She's tangled between the rivalry of 2 old 'frienemies', Kim Tan and the pesky Choi Yong Do (Kim Woo Bin) -- that I like to call the Gu Jun Pyo of 'The Heirs'. At the same time our heroine must survive her new high school life with her fake 'new money' status to avoid being bullied and thrown to the lowest Sudra class. Don't forget the possessive fiancée that goes to the same school, the childhood best boy friend Yoon Chan Hyung (Kang Min Hyuk) and his overly attached girlfriend Lee Bo Na (Jung Soo Jung). A love triangle is building up, family and business tension is heightened, and so far the storyline has been captivating but running too slow, with each episode being dragged too long for no good reason.

Hello there, bromance! Soon to be in love with the same lady eh?

So far 'The Heir' has been running for 6 episodes, airs every Wednesday and Thursday on SBS, and is set for 20 episodes. From the bottom of my heart, I wish the writers decide to pick things up a little bit, to avoid the viewers from leaving their seat every minute for a toilet break. The end of every episode has fallen flat instead of tight-gripping, with half of it filled with only meaningful glares and empty threats. New problems arise in almost every scene, yet no serious action or follow-up is taken. After watching 6 episodes, this seems to be the rhythm of this show, but it's no sin to hope for more scandalous scenes, yes? (Screaming fight, fight, fight! Kiss, kiss, kiss!)
Sets of eye candy and big names aren’t enough to make one good drama. It needs strong characters and storyline to support its life. Nevertheless, so far the show has spread good vibes and is shown to be promising enough to become one of 2013's most memorable K-drama. It’s still too early to drop a verdict at this stage. If you're interested to watch this show, there are a lot of online websites that enable you to stream or even download the episodes with English subtitles. Thank heaven we won't miss the ultimate exposure of Lee Min Ho's barechestedness. Oops. :P
